Episode 44

Football hosts their Spring Game, Jade Carey's Brilliant Season Is Over, Baseball Sweeps The Dirtbags, And A Blown Call For Softball

In this episode of the Belligerent Beavs Podcast, we are missing everyone's favorite Bebe, Benny, while he mysteriously vacations in Mexico, but Terry and JP still find it within them to dish their feelings around JT Daniels and Football being left at the altar, share some learnings from the Spring Game, celebrate Jade Carey's brilliant freshman Gymnastics season, recap the Baseball series against Long Beach State, and look into the difficult path ahead of Softball as they head into their final three series of conference play.

  • Speaker B: Is Benny coming?

    Speaker A: I don't think so.

Speaker B: Did you know he was going to Mexico?

    Speaker A: No.

    Speaker B: Me neither.

Speaker A: We agreed to this.

    Speaker A: Bye.

Speaker A: Is signing up for a podcast with Benny if this is indeed the start of the podcast.

    Speaker B: Hey, listener.

Speaker A: What's up, Beaver fan?

Speaker A: Welcome to episode 44 of the Blue Dream Peace Podcast.

Speaker A: I am your co host, Terry Horseman, joined by one of my co hosts, J.

    Speaker A: P.

Speaker A: Bertram, and not my other co host, Benjamin Lauren Sebastian.

Speaker A: We age who's in Mexico just because Mexico is great.

Speaker B: I honestly had no idea.

Speaker B: I had no idea until I saw something on Instagram.

Speaker A: And I was like.

Speaker B: Is this like a later gram or is this now?

Speaker A: It's like something about, like, there is a small window of maybe being able to record in future week, whatever.

Speaker A: But he's just like, yeah, I'm in Mexico.

Speaker B: Not like Cabo or Cancun.

Speaker B: He's like, in the middle of Mexico.

    Speaker B: That's like a serious vacation.

Speaker A: He's in actual Mexico.

Speaker A: Speaking of which, though, I actually booked a solo trip to Cancun for next month.

    Speaker B: Today.

    Speaker A: What?

    Speaker A: Why?

Speaker A: I've been thinking about this for a while.

Speaker A: I really have just been wanting a long weekend at an all inclusive to sit on the beach and read and drink and do nothing else.

Speaker A: And I'm going to do it.

    Speaker A: Nice.

    Speaker B: Good for you.

    Speaker A: May 19 to May 23.

Speaker A: And just look through Delta vacations.

Speaker A: A nice deal popped up, and it's at an all inclusive.

    Speaker A: That's adults only.

    Speaker B: There you go.

    Speaker B: Exactly.

Speaker A: The first one I mentioned to a friend was like, now you really need to hit the peloton so you can be really hot by the time you get there.

Speaker A: Like a swinging couple asks you to be their third.

    Speaker B: D*** right.

Speaker A: Check out this peloton bond.

Speaker A: There's definitely, like, I feel there's a mixed reviews of the resort, as there are for most of these places.

Speaker A: Ripped me away from my family, and I never saw them again.

Speaker A: But at least they're nice about.

Speaker A: No, not like that.

Speaker A: But I noticed all the one, two, and three star reviews were like people who were partying too hard.

    Speaker B: That's your jam.

Speaker A: The five star reviews were like the baristas were really nice.

Speaker A: And I feel like no one's really giving anyone a proper peak behind the curtain of what the experience of this place really is.

Speaker A: It was the best deal on Delta vacations, so I'm excited.

    Speaker A: Good for you.

Speaker B: I have one question.

Speaker B: Are you packing your microphone without the base again?

Speaker A: I probably will, yeah.

Speaker A: It'll be getting back on a Monday.

Speaker A: So we'll be recording on either that Sunday or maybe we'd record on Monday after.

Speaker B: Just in case they'll bring the microphone.

    Speaker A: Just in case.

Speaker B: Unlike someone we know who's in Mexico.

Speaker B: Sands microphone and probably Sands everything but his phone.

Speaker A: Yes, but if he's posting to Instagram, that means he has some connection to the cloud.

Speaker A: So he could be recording.

    Speaker B: Oh, totally.

Speaker A: He could absolutely be recording.

    Speaker B: No excuse.

Speaker B: We should talk about replacing him.

    Speaker A: We should.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker A: We are now holding our auditions.

Speaker A: Have you always dreamt about being a Babe?

Speaker A: Since this podcast existed less than a year, now is your chance.

Speaker A: Take Benny's place, though.

Speaker A: I feel like being in Oregon State pod.

Speaker A: We can't get rid of the one and only Benny of the three of us.

    Speaker B: That's true.

Speaker A: Do him like the University did.

    Speaker A: Bernice?

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: Relegate him to the basement of Gill.

Speaker A: We talked about this over the weekenders.

Speaker A: If you're listening and you've enjoyed our Bring Bernice Back content, we want to kick this up a notch.

Speaker A: We're happy with the idea of Bernice having a PO box for some fan mail, but we know.

Speaker B: Is it up yet?

    Speaker B: Like, there's a real mail.

Speaker A: We're not satisfied with words.

Speaker A: We're an action forward entity here, and we want Bernice back in the fold.

Speaker A: So keep writing those letters.

Speaker A: Keep drawing those pictures.

Speaker A: Adorable children of our listeners.

Speaker B: Or like, listener Linda, who showed up at the spring game with Where is Bernie's Beaver sign a full on sign.

Speaker A: Was Linda the one also wearing the Wrecking Research shirt at the Peacock?

Speaker B: Yeah, Linda was awesome.

    Speaker B: I know.

    Speaker A: Linda is awesome.

Speaker A: Better Babe than either of us are, for sure.

Speaker A: We didn't go to the spring game.

Speaker A: No, we're going to talk about it like we were there.

Speaker A: But full disclosure, we were not at the snow game.

Speaker B: I was coaching T ball in like a lightning storm, which is also problematic.

Speaker A: But I was watching the Timber Wolves playoff basketball and win playoff basketball, which is why my voice is a little horse.

    Speaker B: Nice.

Speaker B: Did you go to the game?

Speaker A: I went to the game on Tuesday night, the playing game against the Clippers.

Speaker A: I did not go to game one in Memphis, though.

    Speaker B: Oh, yeah.

Speaker B: Wait, do they play tomorrow?

Speaker B: Then they must play.

    Speaker A: Not until Tuesday.

    Speaker A: What?

Speaker A: That's weird because that's weird because once it gets to weeknights, they don't have time to do all four a slot of four games.

Speaker A: So some teams get two full days off in between.

Speaker A: So we're on a Tuesday at 730 Central time.

Speaker B: If both our teams win our series, we meet next round.

    Speaker B: Right?

Speaker A: I know that would be some rough potting.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker A: I have to be here for every episode.

Speaker A: I don't want to look ahead.

Speaker A: I think it honestly would be fun because we'd feel like we're playing with house money at that point.

Speaker A: So it might not be truly friendship breaking, but yeah, if you beat the Nuggets and we beat the Grizzlies, it's us in the Western Conference semi every year at baseball season.

Speaker A: I don't think the beginning of Major League Baseball season.

Speaker A: I don't know if our listeners know this, but you and I text each other saying, See you in the World Series, referring to the Giants and Twins.

Speaker A: Your team has held up that end of the bargain a few times my team has fallen well short.

Speaker B: I deliberately did not send that text this year.

    Speaker A: Oh, I don't think I did either.

Speaker B: No, we're breaking the street.

Speaker B: And for maybe a good reason.

Speaker B: Let's see what happens.

Speaker B: I'm feeling good about the Twins, and I'm feeling great about the Giants.

    Speaker A: Right.

Speaker B: So I won't see you in the World Series.

    Speaker B: Screw you.

Speaker A: Yeah, I'll never see you in the World Series.

    Speaker B: The reverse jinx.

Speaker A: I'll never win a baseball game again anyway.

Speaker A: Well, also, we are recording this on April 17, just after 07:00 P.m..

    Speaker A: Pacific Time.

    Speaker A: Happy Easter.

    Speaker A: If you're celebrating.

    Speaker A: Happy continued Rambadan.

Speaker A: If you are celebrating.

Speaker A: But if you're listening to the Belligerent Beasts podcast, you are definitely celebrating beef stir.

    Speaker A: I put a little F under that.

    Speaker A: It's not beefster.

    Speaker A: That's a different thing.

    Speaker A: That's a sandwich you get in Chicago at 03:00 A.m..

Speaker A: After making beef stir.

Speaker B: On the third day, the Lord chopped them.

    Speaker A: Exactly.

Speaker A: And declared, you cannot spell chop them without hope.

Speaker A: In accordance with the scriptures and the drunk hosts and resurrect.

Speaker A: Everlasting so happy Beaver, head on over to the merch store@belligerentbeeves.com.

Speaker A: We've got some new recent s*** since the last time we gathered.

Speaker B: Is that really just since the last time?

Speaker A: The Masters was last weekend.

Speaker A: So we still have the new Masters.

Speaker A: Tristan Tree, hats and shirts and stuff.

Speaker A: Weather is starting to turn.

Speaker A: We're in full spring swing of things.

Speaker A: Hope you're able to get out onto the golf course, get out in the sun, enjoy the warm weather.

Speaker A: Hopefully your golf game is better than mine.

Speaker A: But like I said, I'm committed to changing my game by the end of this summer, early fall.

Speaker B: I think for good cause.

Speaker B: I think what we want to try to do, we should put something together.

Speaker B: I think that we should connect with Tristan Tree and put together some sort of, like, babys classic, like scramble tournament.

Speaker B: As listener Joe Hedberg has pointed out, we should do it to either benefit a charity or to promote the Bring Back Bernice campaign.

Speaker B: And I love both of those leads.

Speaker B: I think we can do both.

Speaker B: It could be an and so we'll iron out those details.

Speaker B: But, yeah, start forming some teams and start getting ready to play some golf with a Bay base.

Speaker B: I think we'll have to figure it out.

Speaker B: I don't know when it could be a year from now, but when the weather is nice, maybe fall.

Speaker B: Fall could be a good time to do it.

Speaker A: Maybe fall like the Friday before a game.

Speaker A: If people are taking time off to get to Corvallis for a game weekend.

Speaker A: Thinking ahead, I have friends from Colorado who really want to go to Corvallis for a game, and that's October 22, so that's the game.

Speaker A: I'm trying to get out there for multiple games this fall.

    Speaker B: There you go.

Speaker B: Money just my back.

    Speaker A: Easy does it.

Speaker A: One thing at a time.

Speaker A: You got me for one home game.

Speaker A: And one away game last year.

Speaker A: You gave me for a couple of home games.

Speaker A: A couple of way games this year.

Speaker A: Before you know it's, I'm living in the Housestead quarters at Pycap, which might be a step too far.

Speaker A: I hope someone would intervene before we get to that point.

    Speaker A: Shut up, Pycap.

Speaker A: In Oregon sacred class.

Speaker B: I really like the white.

    Speaker B: The white.

    Speaker B: Adidas, Tristan.

    Speaker A: Master's hat.

    Speaker B: Masters hat.

Speaker A: I haven't ordered mine yet, but I'm going.

Speaker A: I really want one.

Speaker B: I'm having a hard time convincing myself just solely because I have probably 400.

Speaker A: And you have all of the babys hats that have been made so far.

Speaker B: Even yesterday, super secret producer Skinner was over.

Speaker B: We were watching the warriors game one, and he was like, you're just designing these things so that you could wear them, right?

    Speaker B: It's like, mostly.

    Speaker B: I know.

Speaker B: I got to stop myself.

    Speaker A: No, you don't.

    Speaker A: It's hard.

    Speaker A: It's awesome.

Speaker A: And you're good at that.

Speaker A: We're now officially a clothing line with a podcast.

Speaker A: When we started wearing a podcast with a couple of shirts.

Speaker A: Now we're just a weird clothing line with a drunk Beaver on most of our s***.

Speaker A: And we also get together and talk about it once a week.

Speaker B: Hey, speaking of clothing line and weird s***, our birthday is coming up, so we should talk about that a bit until it happens.

Speaker B: Let's remind the listeners that our first birthday is what day, Terry it is.

    Speaker A: May 11 day.

Speaker A: May 11 is a great day.

Speaker A: May 11, 2021 was the day the first ever episode of Belligerent Beaves aired.

Speaker A: So to commemorate that day, our birth into the world, we'll be having our first birthday party on Twitter Spaces, our favorite venue in the world, our favorite gathering place due to all of the great halftime Twitter spaces we got to have over the football season.

Speaker A: And then a couple of the holiday party that we had on Twitter Space, that was great.

Speaker A: We're doing it again.

Speaker A: We're in the process of booking special guests who will all speak.

Speaker A: It'll be completely open to the public as to where spaces are.

    Speaker A: So May 11, starting at 08:00 P.m.

    Speaker A: Pacific Time.

    Speaker A: It's a Wednesday.

Speaker A: So a little bit later, we'll hear from some of your favorite Bay Bay's guests, friends of the Pod.

Speaker A: By the end of the night, we'll open it up to the room and anyone can shout out whatever they want to.

Speaker A: We can talk whatever be resport you want to talk about.

Speaker A: And this will be a good old time.

Speaker A: It'll be just like the holiday party if you were there for that, where we'll just be cracking some drinks, cracking jokes, and having a good Oregon State same time and celebrating us existing for a full year without getting canceled.

Speaker A: The three of us did not think was possible.

    Speaker B: I know.

Speaker B: And I heard a rumor of free s***.

Speaker A: I heard that same rumor I did.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker A: I don't know who I heard it from, though, but I think it's a reputable source.

Speaker A: They reached out to Benny scoops.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: And he scooped it quick.

Speaker A: Scooped it real quick.

Speaker A: He scooped it so fast, he had to lay low in Mexico for a while.

Speaker A: That's how big of a scoop it is.

    Speaker B: So, yes.

    Speaker B: May 11 PM.

Speaker B: Don't forget, put on the calendar.

Speaker B: I don't even know if you can do Twitter Spaces on the calendar.

Speaker B: Can we schedule this thing out?

Speaker B: I should probably schedule it out or I'll tell Andre to do it, but it'll be a good time.

Speaker B: So looking forward to having everybody.

Speaker A: Then the free stuff will be is it going to be exclusive shirt, exclusive merch to the first 30 or so people who log into the spaces?

Speaker A: Is that how this is going to work?

Speaker B: We have a limited amount of freebies.

Speaker B: However, it's not just merch.

Speaker B: There are other free things that we're providing to our favorite Bieber FAM.

Speaker B: And the way it will work is kind of first come, first serve.

Speaker B: So we'll let everybody know when the time comes.

Speaker B: Join the Twitter spaces and.

Speaker B: Yeah, just have the Twitter finger ready to just get after it.

Speaker A: As soon as our listeners are legit their Twitter fingers.

    Speaker A: Stay ready.

    Speaker A: Exactly.

    Speaker A: Stay ready.

Speaker A: So you don't have to get ready.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

    Speaker B: D*** right.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

    Speaker A: All right.

Speaker A: Well, we need to move on.

Speaker A: We don't have Benny, but we do have a lot of stuff to get to.

Speaker A: But we should start with everyone's.

Speaker A: Let's do beers and then we'll get to a couple of shout outs.

Speaker A: So let's get to the beverages.

Speaker A: What we're drinking on this Easter Sunday.

Speaker A: I had a number of Mimosas with my family earlier in the day and have since switched to beer while I've just been at home writing the notes for the episode and watching the NBA playoffs.

Speaker A: Some really good games today, by the way.

Speaker A: But, JP, what are you sipping on this evening?

Speaker B: First before I get into what I'm drinking.

Speaker B: And you'll love this, Terry.

Speaker B: So shout out to my wife because my wife found all this.

Speaker B: And first she found some pop ups that are coming up.

Speaker B: So Block 15 is coming.

Speaker B: Block 15 coming up to Portland as a pop up to hit the Alphabet district up like Northwest 23rd.

Speaker B: There's like a beer pop up spot that they always kind of rotate through.

Speaker B: It's called Function PDX, and they are located on Northwest 23rd.

Speaker B: They have a lineup for the rest of 2022 June.

Speaker B: They've got Reubens Bruce from Seattle.

    Speaker B: July.

    Speaker B: Urban Roots Sacramento.

    Speaker B: Whoa.

Speaker B: They got Drker from Fargo.

Speaker A: Drucker is good, dude.

    Speaker A: You'd like Drucker?

Speaker A: I think I've had a Drecker similar to Great notion.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: So let me see.

Speaker B: The Block 15 days are in May.

Speaker B: So next month they've got Dugard and for Land and Block 15 coming up in May.

Speaker B: They're really covering all over the place.

Speaker B: Fast Fashion from Seattle, Balebreaker Brewing from Yakima.

    Speaker B: Stone Brewing.

Speaker B: Of course is down.

Speaker B: It'll have that November, and then the Oregon Brewers Guild collaborations will be in December to close out the year.

Speaker B: So check out Function PDX.

Speaker B: Really cool idea for having like a beer centric pop up space.

Speaker B: And I think they've had some other ones, like, some good ones, like Fieldwork Brewing earlier this year.

Speaker B: And Fieldwork is from the Bay Area.

    Speaker B: East Bay.

Speaker B: I'm very familiar with them and they have wonderful beers as well.

Speaker B: So give them a shout.

Speaker B: The one thing that my wife noticed beyond just that they have Block 15 coming soon.

Speaker B: She wanted to alert me, to alert our listeners is that they also do a delivery.

    Speaker B: Oh, s***.

Speaker B: Not just a delivery bundle, it's called Roadbeerspdx and I think it's literally roadbearspdx.com.

Speaker B: So you go to their site, though, you could pick out a different assortment of beer styles and they have pretty much like three different bundles at the moment.

Speaker B: Like, one is like a mix of everything.

    Speaker B: One's a kind of lighter one's, like a hoppier one.

Speaker B: I got the hoppier one yesterday.

    Speaker B: It's insanely good.

Speaker B: And they have partner breweries all over Portland.

Speaker B: Pretty much like Culmination Wayfinder, Little Beast, Second Profession, Sasquatch Unicorn Brewing, Laurel Wood Hop Works, and Gigantic and More Stickman.

Speaker B: Yeah, they're covering everybody, which is really cool to be able to just get like a sample of one of the top beers of all these breweries on demand almost.

Speaker B: I mean, this thing showed up within like 4 hours and there's eleven tall cans and then that's quicker than most DoorDash deliveries, right?

Speaker B: So eleven tall cans and then a bottled beer, $60.

Speaker B: So pretty good price point.

Speaker B: And so today I'm actually drinking the Chill Seeker Cold IPA.

Speaker B: And it's not Portland Brewery, but it's from Boss Rambler Beer Club which is in Bend.

Speaker B: So shout out Central Oregon, Central Oregon into his shout out at the Cascades campus.

    Speaker B: H*** yeah.

Speaker B: Oregon State footprint is strong out in Central Oregon.

Speaker B: Okay, this is a great cold IPA.

    Speaker B: So it's not a triple, it's not a double, it's a cold.

    Speaker B: It's a cold.

Speaker B: Cold IPAs are growing on me and I like this one a lot.

    Speaker B: It's really good.

    Speaker A: Thanks.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: Shout out Boss Rambler Beer Club.

Speaker A: Can you say the name of the beer one more time?

Speaker B: Chill Seeker Chill Seeker.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

    Speaker A: Nice.

    Speaker B: Yeah, nice.

Speaker A: So on JP Birch on the untapped skill.

Speaker A: I don't know if you reviewed it on the app yet, but is this in the four two five range?

Speaker A: Is it possibly dipping its toe into the four three pool?

Speaker A: Is it that good?

Speaker B: It's not that high.

Speaker B: It's not that high.

Speaker B: I was sniffing four.

Speaker B: I gave it three nine, which is still very respectable for a cold IPA.

Speaker B: I think most of my cold IPAs I've been given previously were like, they just weren't really that refreshing or something.

Speaker B: It was really hard to put like a finger on why they didn't taste that good.

Speaker B: It was almost like they were like the court I love course I had two of them yesterday, but like the Coors Light of IPAs, because they were like, just drink this really cold and it tastes okay.

Speaker B: This is not really cold right now.

Speaker B: And it's very good.

Speaker A: The mountains are blue, but you want a great view from the mountains as well.

Speaker A: You can't just have them to be Blue.

    Speaker B: Journey.

    Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.

    Speaker A: Well, very good.

Speaker A: I'm glad you had a very in depth and thoughtful story for your beer tonight, because, of course, I didn't drop the ball like Benny.

Speaker A: We just shot fire.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker A: Hey, Benny's going to catch strays while he's not on the pot of defense.

Speaker A: Yeah, I can't even defend himself.

Speaker A: Hey, he could be here.

Speaker A: He could be here.

    Speaker A: He's not.

Speaker A: So I have a beer that I've drank on the show before, and I'm trying not to do that anymore, but just busy weekend.

Speaker A: And then today was Easter Sunday, so I was out over at my parents house, and then, of course, stories of hours weren't the same.

Speaker A: So I'm drinking a Summit EPA again.

Speaker A: I love Summit EPA.

Speaker A: It's one of the longest running summit is one of the longest running breweries in the Twin Cities area.

    Speaker A: It's a great brewery.

Speaker A: So it's not like I just found a Bud Light in the fridge, which I have also done on this show.

Speaker A: Prefer a Ham for growing the macro Brewer out, clearly.

Speaker A: But Summit EPA extra pale.

Speaker A: It's one of my favorite beers ever.

Speaker A: So I'm having a good time drinking the summer EPA on this Easter evening.

Speaker A: And next week, I promise, I will have something very Terry and very new.

Speaker A: You can take that to the bank.

Speaker A: I have plans for that.

Speaker A: I have plans for next episode.

Speaker B: I missed the live tastings.

Speaker A: I spent one episode.

Speaker A: Didn't we do one last week?

Speaker B: I can't remember still missing all of these things blurred together.

Speaker A: Here we are, live, and you can see me tasting it.

Speaker A: Jp, I have another one.

    Speaker A: Let's pretend.

Speaker B: Oh, here we go.

    Speaker A: That's a good beer.

    Speaker B: It sounds good.

    Speaker A: That's a good pal.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

    Speaker A: There we go.

Speaker A: Should we talk about some organization support?

Speaker A: We've got a couple that we need to do well.

Speaker B: First, shout out to CAPRIEL.

Speaker B: She joined the Patreon and Discord.

Speaker B: She jumped in headfirst.

Speaker A: Came out swinging with some hot takes, too.

Speaker B: Yeah, which is great.

Speaker A: The discord is growing slowly, but it's growing, and you're going to want to get in on the ground floor.

Speaker A: Otherwise it's going to be too hard to keep up.

Speaker B: Yeah, it's kind of like I don't want to age myself, but if you remember the AOL Chat rooms of the day, it's like if you could get in there early and solidify yourself as, like that Chatroom legend, you are gold, right?

Speaker A: You are ready to be a legend on Chat Roulette after chat room legend, maybe.

Speaker A: Don't take it that far.

Speaker A: Jp disappeared from the years 2011 to 2013 with very little detail.

Speaker A: You don't ask questions about it, but this might be explaining why.

Speaker B: Do you remember the time speaking to Chat Roulette that I decided to put Chat Roulette on a laptop in the basement at my birthday, at your birthday party and chat related the party.

Speaker B: And it was hilarious because people were walking up to the camera like, what is this?

Speaker B: And then people were like popping up on the other side of the connection sometimes Dong in hand.

Speaker A: It was just right there for all the people who we were like adjacent friends with were like, I went to Terry's birthday party and people were like, how was it?

    Speaker A: I don't know.

Speaker A: There was a laptop in the corner with like, dongs.

    Speaker B: No, you forgot.

Speaker B: We had a projector we were projecting out of the wall.

Speaker A: This explains so much.

Speaker A: This is why I'm still single.

Speaker A: That was my 22nd birthday party.

Speaker A: That was five and seven more years ago.

    Speaker A: Jd.

Speaker A: We could have gotten in trouble for indecent exposure for rejecting Chat Roulette publicly.

Speaker B: I didn't think that far ahead.

    Speaker A: Of course I didn't.

Speaker A: I didn't think far ahead at all.

Speaker A: When you said, hey, Terry, can I chat your birthday party?

Speaker A: And I said, sure.

Speaker B: Dude, I had that marketing mind.

    Speaker B: You really did.

Speaker A: It's amazing that none of us have gone to jail.

Speaker A: This is not the turn that I wanted this segment of the show to take.

Speaker A: We also have to give another shout out to a dear friend of the pod and a supporter for basically the beginning.

Speaker A: Linda, Freddy, Linda, shout out Linda, who was at the spring game this year, not only at the spring game, rocking some sick gear, the Wrecking research team specifically.

Speaker A: Are the Last Chance shirts still up on the site JP or are they gone?

    Speaker A: They're gone forever.

Speaker A: You can't ever get a Last Chance shirt unless you find on Etsy or Ebay, but Linda has one was rocking it proudly.

Speaker A: And at the Peacock post gaming in Oregon State game the only way anyone should the spring game might not matter, but the rituals do.

Speaker A: And it's great to see your Twitter posts about being at the Peacock after an Oregon State win.

Speaker A: Yeah, we won in 2022.

Speaker A: Oregon State football is one more games than the men's basketball teams have so far.

    Speaker A: Let's go.

Speaker B: Speaking of football spring games, let's jump on in.

Speaker A: Let's jump into football.

Speaker A: We got to start with football, kind of because of the spring game, but also because the juicy storyline that Oregon State was connected to this College football off season is over.

Speaker A: Jt Daniels, five star quarterback, Georgia quarterback transferring to not Oregon State.

Speaker A: He is transferring to West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia in the Big Twelve.

Speaker A: One could say the Oregon State of the Big Twelve.

Speaker A: Could we say that about West Virginia?

    Speaker A: Maybe.

    Speaker A: I don't know.

Speaker A: Anyway, it was fun to be part of this mix.

Speaker A: It was fun to imagine JT here.

Speaker A: It was fun to hear about his cool boots from Carter, but at the end of the day, he's not coming.

Speaker A: He's not one of us.

Speaker A: He's not going to be on the podcast at least.

    Speaker A: Probably.

Speaker A: Jc Daniels will probably never be a guest on the Belligerent Peace podcast.

    Speaker B: Never.

    Speaker A: Never.

Speaker A: That ship has sailed, Game of Thrones style, with flaming arrows shot into it on fire, going down a f****** waterfall.

    Speaker B: Red Wedding ask.

Speaker A: So JT is gone, and I was disappointed because I think it would have been fun for Oregon State just to be the school of choice for a player like that.

Speaker A: But ultimately, I'm not super bummed.

Speaker A: No, it's like f***** out of the fun.

Speaker B: Can I put, like, I don't know, a realistic spin on this?

Speaker B: This is still a stab in the dark, but in my mind, this is what's the realistic side of it all.

Speaker B: It would have been really fun to have JT Daniels pick Oregon State as a five star, previously absolute stud quarterback.

Speaker B: However, it would be his third school and now West Virginia is his third school.

Speaker A: Third school in five years.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker B: Who knows what he would have done to the locker room?

Speaker B: I mean, would you have sack?

Speaker B: I want to pose this question.

Speaker B: Would you have sacrificed next season and the momentum on building upon last year's Bull appearance to land a five star transfer just to be in that kind of national light of we are in that conversation, or would you want to see a one win, incremental improvement over last year with the same personnel?

Speaker A: I would make the sacrifice, but I'm not heartbroken that we're not getting the chance to do that because I think from what I've watched, part of the reason why I'm saying that is because I heard the interviews with media that Chancellor and interest in Jevia gave during Oregon State media availability during spring practices where they're asked about JT Daniels and Jonathan Smith can't say much about it.

Speaker A: The players really can't say much about it, but both of them kind of just shrugged it off in a way that I was impressed with and said, bring it on.

    Speaker A: I don't care who's in the room.

Speaker A: Both of them know what they've done, and I think generally speaking, the more competition the better.

Speaker A: I think JT Daniels was the best quarterback on George's roster last year.

Speaker A: I have a very high opinion of his talent and I know that he's fought a lot of injuries and I think he's been in some just difficult team situations in his College career.

Speaker A: So I absolutely would have rolled the dice to see what can we do with him at quarterback given the opportunity?

Speaker A: Having said that, I'm not overly heartbroken about it because I do think there's a chance.

Speaker A: What if he comes in?

Speaker A: Jonathan Smith right away declares on the starting quarterback and the guys are like, we rode for Chance last year.

Speaker A: We've sat by Tristan while he's been rehabbing all of this time, and now this guy just gets it.

Speaker A: And then what if JT gets hurt in the second game and then sort of maybe the trust is gone?

Speaker A: I feel like coaches are constantly playing with fire and how much fire and how close they're getting to that fire ebbs and flows.

Speaker A: I don't disparage Jonathan Smith at all for pursuing this, and I think you always have to test the waters.

Speaker A: You always have to think about trying to make your football team better.

Speaker A: I would have loved it had he come, and I think we would have been better for it.

Speaker A: But now I think maybe we even get the best of both worlds where Chance and Tristan are both ticked off.

Speaker A: Maybe even Ben Branson to an extent, and are like.

Speaker A: Chance had a nice season last year.

Speaker A: It wasn't great though.

Speaker A: It was good at times and was very good at other times.

Speaker A: But he needs to level up and I think that this is just more fuel to that fire, and he's currently fighting Tristan for that job too.

Speaker A: And I know they're buds and good teammates, but I think I absolutely would have welcomed JT into the fold knowing that it could have backfired, but it also could have gotten us into the national conversation in a way that we haven't seen in a long time.

Speaker B: I really don't care about JC Daniels.

Speaker B: I honestly don't really know if I ever felt that excited about that potential of him coming, other than the premise of it would have been fun.

Speaker B: No, like a five star quarterback is transferring and we're in the mix.

Speaker B: That was more exciting to me than what would have happened if he came.

Speaker B: People are saying like.

Speaker A: Didn'T you really want to do that?

Speaker A: Emergency Twitter spaces or emergency episode recording, though?

Speaker A: Just to have the reason to do it?

    Speaker B: Maybe, yeah, sure.

Speaker B: But that would have been but I didn't ever see it working out as well as we had hoped, and I just don't really see him working out very well anywhere other than West Virginia.

Speaker B: And he might still not be the splashiest quarterback next year because that's his best chance.

Speaker B: The guy was never going to come back to the pack.

    Speaker B: Twelve one.

Speaker B: I hate SC and I hate Se guys too.

Speaker B: So being born and bred a Bruin from both my parents reigned me to hate USC and I just hate them.

Speaker B: Very close second to hating the UFO, but I just didn't want really to have a USC guy who already bailed on SC.

Speaker B: If he had a rough start, I would have been all over him, and I think it would have been hard for him given this, that he has no other opportunities, he has no other exits if the fan base turn on him quickly as well, right?

Speaker B: And it makes so much sense.

Speaker B: He went to West Virginia with Graham Harrell there, who was his offensive coordinator who probably recruited him pretty hard to SC now the offensive coordinator at West Virginia, he knew it was his only chance.

Speaker B: And if anything, this showed that recruiting in the transfer portal with nil.

Speaker B: As big as it is for a guy like JT Daniels, the money talks the most.

    Speaker B: Dude.

Speaker B: What this guy probably is getting out of being in West Virginia and the stability of going back to his office of coordinator that recruited him is too much to pass up in today's age.

Speaker B: I want to point this out because I think there are people out there who are questioning Smith and Co.

Speaker B: About their ability to recruit a quarterback.

Speaker B: And yeah, it is trending in a concerning direction given the dormant stuff this year, going to Arizona over flipping from Oregon State, not landing JT Daniels, I get that concern.

Speaker B: But this guy was never ever coming to Oregon State.

Speaker B: He was never coming.

    Speaker A: Literally.

    Speaker A: He did come.

Speaker A: He came for a weekend, right.

Speaker B: To put West Virginia deeper in their pockets to figure out how they would get him more money.

Speaker A: I agree with you to an extent.

Speaker A: I think he did secure a bag.

Speaker A: And let's remember when we were in College when Graham Harrow was the quarterback for Texas Tech, he was kind of the original aired out quarterback.

Speaker A: He also wasn't that good.

Speaker A: And I remember Texas Tech fans, it was the great sort of divide because you got to watch Michael Crabtree play in the most high powered designed offense.

    Speaker B: That's a name that.

Speaker A: And then you're just picking up right now and you love Michael Crabtrees.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

    Speaker B: Don't tell.

Speaker B: Our listeners are majority Seahawks fans.

    Speaker A: Whatever.

Speaker A: If you can't f****** handle you've talked so much s*** about Seattle on this podcast.

Speaker A: If that's the rub.

Speaker A: If that's the one thing that's one step too far for certain listeners, I have to say that we're a promichal Crab Tree podcast uncle.

Speaker B: Sherm ended up a Niner anyway.

    Speaker B: He really did.

Speaker A: But I just remember Harold being like his numbers in College were great, but it's just because he threw a thousand times a game and it was usually either overthrowing or under throwing the best set of receivers in the country.

Speaker A: And Texas Tech man is going to stand them.

    Speaker A: So whatever.

    Speaker A: I'm excited.

Speaker A: I feel like we can be pragmatic about this and it's like you don't owe Chance or Tristan an apology because you're excited or even wanted JT Daniels.

Speaker A: In my case, I wanted JT Daniels.

Speaker A: This is not even a top 1000 Beaver sports disappointments.

Speaker A: I saw and I said, f***, that could have been fun.

    Speaker A: Whatever.

Speaker A: Let's roll with Chance or Tristan or whoever Jonathan Smith determines as a starter.

Speaker A: And now it kind of sets up some nice clarity.

Speaker A: And I'm also just at that one point, I'm not that worried about Smith's.

Speaker A: Chance and Debbie both have multiple years of recruiting left, and I think Arizona is recruiting, like, where Dorman went.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker A: There's a chance to step into Arizona, a program that's only moving up and a very talented roster.

Speaker A: But he could be there every downstarter next year.

Speaker A: He probably cannot do that at Oregon State.

Speaker B: Yeah, that's what he's looking for.

    Speaker B: Like, whatever.

Speaker B: There's always some sort of reason.

Speaker B: Yeah, there's underlined reason.

Speaker B: But I want to transition to the spring game because there is something, though, on the quarterback situation clearly.

Speaker B: Like, chance came out first in the first series and as expected.

Speaker B: Right one before we get this.

Speaker B: It was great to see Tristan out there.

Speaker B: It was so nice.

Speaker A: Welcome back to the field, Homie.

Speaker B: Yeah, dude, it felt so good.

Speaker B: It felt like so long overdue the stuff that dude battled through to get back to play.

Speaker B: I mean, just what a badass and I just love it.

Speaker B: And I was so happy to see him playing football again, looking healthy, really.

Speaker B: I know he tried to come back last year.

Speaker B: It just was too much too soon.

Speaker B: I think, like any competitive person, he just wanted to play and he pushed it and it backfired.

    Speaker B: And that's a gamble.

Speaker B: When you're 21, 22, you take that gamble.

Speaker B: But seeing him back now, full strength was great.

Speaker B: There was an interesting quote, though, that I picked up on.

Speaker B: Not really a quote, but just like, I don't know, like a confidence factor.

Speaker B: So Jonathan Smith is getting interviewed on the sideline by our dude, Yogi Roth.

Speaker B: Shout out, Yogi, shout out, Yogi.

Speaker A: A friend of the pod.

    Speaker A: Yes.

Speaker B: And I felt like, okay, we'll get to why I feel like this more so in a second.

Speaker B: But it felt like the confidence that Smith had in Nolan felt shaky.

Speaker B: He talked a lot about how his chances improved since last year, but he didn't say.

Speaker B: And it's hard to do that, he said.

Speaker B: But it's really hard for a player to improve that dramatically from their junior to senior year.

Speaker B: He point blanket in comparison to the jumps that you can make from freshman to sophomore year.

Speaker B: So essentially what he just said is, yeah, he's improved, but it's incremental.

Speaker B: It's not this massive leap.

Speaker B: What that means, I don't know.

Speaker B: I mean, people have been saying his deep balls a lot better, which is great.

Speaker B: If that's the case, then I think that he's going to be a lot more consistent.

Speaker B: Because the problem was when he couldn't throw down field last year, defenses adapted quickly and he was in trouble.

    Speaker B: Right.

Speaker B: And so if he couldn't complete anything past the sticks, we were in for either a BJ.

Speaker B: Baylor game or we were in for an L.

Speaker B: So I'm looking forward to seeing how that default plays out in real competition.

Speaker B: However, it made me think that Smith kind of waffling on his confidence with Nolan.

Speaker B: It isn't a Nolan versus Jebia competition.

Speaker B: It's a Nolan versus Goldensen competition because the fact that you are second string.

Speaker A: Or you think, oh, okay.

Speaker B: If Chance has a slow start, I don't think we're going to Tristan in the season.

    Speaker B: I don't think we're going to Tristan.

    Speaker B: Really?

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: It's too little, too late, almost unfortunately.

Speaker B: And I think what Smith sees is we move on to the younger QB or Chance performs how we want him to.

Speaker B: And that Jebia is kind of like a token quarterback at this point because he's loved by the guys.

    Speaker B: He's battled hard.

Speaker B: He deserves to be on the roster, but of course, he deserves to be in the conversation in his quarterback, but he also in the spring game, he looked really rusty.

Speaker B: He hasn't played in over a year.

Speaker B: So it's like, I don't really blame him to be rusty.

Speaker B: But do you go with your rusty fifth year senior when your senior quarterback has a slow start and you need to make a change, or do you just go to your young arm?

Speaker B: And the way that Smith was talking about the situation with the quarterbacks, it made me feel like, yeah, Chance got better, but he needs to play better still.

Speaker B: And if he doesn't, we're going to the young guys who have made a bigger jump because that's how it works for freshman sophomore seasons.

    Speaker A: Right.

Speaker A: I hear the logic there, but this team needs to win this year.

Speaker A: There can't be a step back.

    Speaker B: Does it, though?

    Speaker B: Does it really?

Speaker A: I think it does.

Speaker B: Yeah, of course we think it does.

Speaker B: But does it really?

Speaker B: The Stadium opens, not this next year, the season after, right.

Speaker A: If we go four and eight this year, then that's an issue.

Speaker B: Of course it is.

Speaker B: But isn't an issue when you're like, we're investing in the future right now, we're giving the ball to the guy who's going to be here for the next three years.

    Speaker B: I don't think so.

Speaker A: At what point does it stop then?

    Speaker A: It's a talented roster.

Speaker A: They've been getting better and better each year the last three years.

Speaker A: Last year was the first sign of real improvement getting to a ball game.

Speaker A: I don't think you can sell this fan base on handing the ball to if Go Branson is the best quarterback, then sure.

Speaker A: And far be it from me to determine who that is.

Speaker A: But if Chance is struggling, I think pretty clearly the ball is going to go to Tristan, and I'm not even so sure that Tristan is not the starter of September 3 against Boise State.

    Speaker B: We'll see.

Speaker B: I mean, there's a lot of time between now and then.

Speaker A: I don't think I'd be shocked whenever I hear who the starting quarterback is.

Speaker A: I think the only thing that would surprise me if it's not one of those three names.

    Speaker B: Oh, I agree.

Speaker B: Well, I think I'm in agreement that if Tristan is starting, then we don't go to Nolan if things go south.

Speaker B: I think that what I'm saying is it's one of those two get their shot.

Speaker B: And if one of them doesn't do it, we're not going to the backup senior.

    Speaker B: We're going young.

Speaker B: And I think that Smith alluded to this in talking about the jumps that players make in their development and why you look for that in a quarterback.

Speaker B: He might have been showing his cards a little bit.

Speaker B: I think he also did that.

Speaker B: This is the only time.

    Speaker B: Hold on.

Speaker B: I will get to it in a second, but I want to just close out being like, whoever's the quarterback, I'm confident that they will be the right choice.

Speaker B: What I'm saying really is just if it's not Gold Ransom, then we're going to go to him if things go south.

Speaker B: That's what I took away from leasing the interview.

    Speaker A: All right.

Speaker A: We'll get into this more, too.

Speaker A: But the defense looks better in the spring game, and the defense is expected to be better.

Speaker A: I think the secondary.

Speaker B: Pants are on fire.

    Speaker A: It was amazing.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker A: Last year the secondary was good at times, not good at times, flashed its talent at other times.

Speaker A: I think the secondary is going to be a real strength this year.

Speaker A: I agree say the defense is awesome and the offense is struggling, and the main issue with the offense is the quarterback.

Speaker B: That's going to be the only potential issue I can see.

    Speaker B: Right.

Speaker A: Chance has two years of eligibility left, so I don't necessarily think you're hunting on the future by rolling with Chance with the same argument.

Speaker A: You can make sense.

Speaker A: This is Jebus last year.

Speaker A: I'm just not there yet.

Speaker A: I feel like it's going to be Chance or Tristan, and if one of them struggles, it's going to be the other one.

Speaker A: I think that's what Smith's going to do because I think that's also the safest for this year.

Speaker A: And I think this team and this athletic Department and this University is concerned with short term PR, and I know it's a gap year for the Stadium itself.

    Speaker A: I don't think it's a gap year for the program.

    Speaker A: Okay.

Speaker B: But let's say that we lose two of the first three.

    Speaker A: Okay.

Speaker B: Which we Nolan starts.

Speaker B: He's struggling not to be negative as h***, if that's possible.

Speaker A: Boise State and Fresno State are two teams I am worried about.

Speaker B: Then we go to Jebier.

    Speaker B: Okay.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker B: Does he win us six of the remaining games?

Speaker B: He could can go Ransom, do the same thing, maybe.

    Speaker A: I don't know.

    Speaker A: I haven't watched in that.

Speaker B: But if you win five games, could go Ransom, win five games.

Speaker B: My point is, if we already get in a hole, are we going to go undefeated by going to our second string quarterback?

    Speaker B: Like, no.

Speaker B: Maybe a half win difference is what I'm saying.

Speaker B: So what I think is that's where you go, you know what?

    Speaker B: We're in a hole.

Speaker B: Let's see what happens.

Speaker B: We can't ride with Nolan anymore or Jebbe, whoever starts, and they end up in a hole.

Speaker B: This is totally hypothetical.

Speaker B: I hope no one ends up in any holes anywhere, literally or figuratively.

    Speaker B: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker B: But let's just say that that does happen.

Speaker B: I just see them going young at that point.

Speaker B: If we win four and we're close to both eligibility, I think people would have realized as a fan, do you think we would really won five with Jebie or Nolan instead?

Speaker B: I don't know if that's certainty, and that's why I think that the staff will go young.

Speaker B: But speaking of Young to move on from the quarterbacks, there is a dude who looks like you put here.

Speaker B: Is he the best freshman since Quiz?

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker A: And that player we're talking about is Adrian Peterson.

    Speaker A: Oh, I'm sorry.

    Speaker A: Daniel Martinez.

Speaker A: I thought he was in another Texas high school running back for a second, just watching the highlights.

Speaker A: Damian Martinez, he didn't really get a chance to break one in the spring game, but man, the buzz around this kid is nonstop.

    Speaker A: It's pretty high.

Speaker A: And that doesn't really happen for true freshmen during their first Springs at Oregon State.

    Speaker A: A lot.

Speaker A: And Carter Baines was on the show a few weeks ago talking about how Smith will make two freshmen earn their reps.

Speaker A: And in the early sessions of the spring practices, Damien was getting a lot of carries, and he just looks like that dude.

Speaker A: And speaking of the Twitter spaces party, he came to our holidays.

    Speaker UNK: Yeah.

Speaker A: So he's already a belligerent Bee's favorite and the number six legacy, Jamar Jefferson for one season and hopefully now Damien Martinez.

Speaker A: But yeah, we're all wondering who is going to get someone's going to get more carries than everyone else.

Speaker A: And it could be a number of people, but right now it could be this freshman wonderkin from Texas, and he's doing a good job so far.

Speaker A: And I think without setting the world on fire in the spring game, I think he showed that he's stepping up to becoming a big time College football running back.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: To answer your question about I don't want to go too long winded on this, but is he the best freshman since Quiz?

    Speaker A: Could he be?

Speaker B: Yes, I would say yeah, he can be.

Speaker B: However, I think that if you think about the talent level of the teams that Quiz joined was fairly decent.

    Speaker B: Right.

Speaker B: Where we're in this kind of still rebuild phase.

Speaker B: Yeah, we became eligible.

Speaker B: I think that Martinez looks better as a freshman right now than Quiz looks as a freshman.

Speaker A: And I did ask that question with a pause because Jamar Jefferson was arguably a better freshman than Quiz, too.

    Speaker B: Right.

Speaker B: But the hype around it.

Speaker B: But with Quiz, it was like he came in, he did his thing.

Speaker B: It was expected, and he did surpass a lot of expectations even as a freshman.

Speaker B: But he was playing against playing with and against some really high caliber players.

Speaker B: And we were just a better talented team at that point.

Speaker B: I would say that Damien look, I don't know.

Speaker B: Either way, he looks better, but it also depends on who's around him.

Speaker B: Does he look better because the team around him isn't nearly as talented yet as the teams that quiz joined?

Speaker B: Or is it that they're getting close and he's still even above that?

Speaker B: It's like so hard to compare that.

Speaker B: But what you do take away is what the coach is saying.

Speaker B: That's what I was alluding to earlier is that they had Coach Smith on again talking about actually.

Speaker A: This is like he went out of his way to talk about him, too.

Speaker A: He's got a crime for sure.

Speaker B: Yeah, he's in the lead for the featured back at this point.

Speaker B: In my mind, what Smith mentioned was that he's been very impressive.

Speaker B: He reminded the viewers that he should still be in high school at this point, that he's joined them early.

Speaker B: He's taking advantage of every rep that he has gotten in spring ball.

Speaker B: And this is where I caught him.

Speaker B: Slip Smith said, quote, and we have a lot of talent behind him, too.

    Speaker A: Gotcha journalism Bible.

Speaker B: But think about that.

Speaker B: You don't praise a kid like that out of your way to just say and then you talk about the players behind him.

Speaker B: You didn't say anything about Fenwick or Lowe or Collins to say all these guys are in the running or yeah, like he's a great player to be mixing it up behind Fenwick.

Speaker A: He didn't say that.

Speaker B: He talked exclusively about Damien, about how great of a runner he is and how impressive he's been.

Speaker B: And then he tried to do the coach speak about like, oh well, let's talk about the other guys in the room, too.

Speaker B: But he explicitly called out that he said they're behind him.

    Speaker A: It's a Freudian, slip, Jonathan.

Speaker B: So I caught that right away.

Speaker B: That caught my ear.

Speaker B: And I kind of watched his mannerisms after that.

Speaker B: And you could tell me it was like, oh, I kind of let out the bag a bit.

Speaker B: So I would not be surprised by any means.

Speaker B: Martinez was the featured back.

Speaker B: And not just not just the committee featured back, but the featured back because he looks that good and the coach is clearly believing in that much.

Speaker A: Yeah, I did not see that comment from him, so I'm happy you brought that up.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

    Speaker A: Interesting.

Speaker A: Well, you know, Fenwick is my guy and this is I know, I love too.

Speaker A: He took a picture of me.

Speaker A: This is a Flowers for Fenwick podcast.

Speaker A: But yeah, I'm happy to see Martinez playing well.

Speaker A: I'm happy to see Smith excited about it.

Speaker A: Jonathan Smith is so cute when he gets excited about players and he's just really lovable and I just want to keep seeing it.

Speaker A: We got to move on from football, but we got to give a few more shout outs.

Speaker A: Silas Bolden of the receiver group had a great spring game, scoring multiple touchdowns.

Speaker A: We talked about the receiving group on this podcast a lot, minus one player since Zariah Bison entered the transfer portal.

    Speaker A: I like Zariah a lot.

Speaker A: Thank you for your time as a Beef, but I'm also not worried about that absence.

Speaker B: Also, by the way, speaking of wide receiver room champ Flemings just announced on Instagram that he's transferring to Arkansas State.

Speaker A: Okay, good for you.

    Speaker A: Arkansas State.

Speaker A: I had a friend who went there and played basketball there.

    Speaker B: Cool.

Speaker A: Good for the Red Wolves.

    Speaker A: Look at me.

Speaker A: Bringing it back to all Wolf based mascots on here.

Speaker A: Shocker, but Bolden played great.

Speaker A: I think the receivers are in good hands and Silas was a dude last year when we were brainstorming about playmakers who might enter the fold a little bit more and they never really used them.

Speaker A: So maybe that's a guy who, with the departure of a couple of other players, get some shine.

Speaker A: Also, shout out to Ryan Frankie, the defensive end who almost had a defensive TD, a scooping almost score on the day.

Speaker A: Ryan Frankie played pretty well last year.

Speaker A: Excited to see what he brings to the table and also because his parents, Carol and Gary, met Benny and I at the Woods Brewery in West Lafayette before the Purdue game.

Speaker A: And we had a beer with them and they were very nice.

Speaker A: I think we did.

Speaker A: I had my stickers with me.

    Speaker A: Benny did not.

    Speaker A: Okay, good.

Speaker A: I think I gave Carol a sticker and she was like, I don't know what this is, and it's a podcast.

Speaker A: I don't want to take away from this great experience for you.

Speaker A: I hope your son plays well, but Frankie a dude who's overcome a lot of injuries as well.

Speaker A: So Ryan, shout out to you.

Speaker A: Glad you had a great time and we need production in the front seven.

Speaker A: So anyway, this concludes our lengthy in depth review of the Oregon football string game.

Speaker A: I know I got off to a rough start.

Speaker A: Shout out to all the Beaver fans who braved the s***** weather and made it out there.

Speaker A: And definitely if you're wearing Babe's gear and drank at one of our favorite establishments afterward, then the double shout out to you, JP.

Speaker A: Let's kick it over to you.

Speaker A: And let's switch it to our latest update or our latest coverage of this gymnastics season.

Speaker A: The team was done in the tournament a couple of weeks ago, but our favorite Oregon State athlete, Jade Carrie, did perform at the National Championships this week.

Speaker A: Yeah, that was cool, Samwell.

Speaker B: Yeah, she did great.

    Speaker B: She did amazing.

Speaker B: I'm in a learning curve of gymnastics competition.

Speaker A: You and me both, brother.

    Speaker A: But we're here.

Speaker B: There were some tips from listeners on Twitter about how to be able to follow the events that Jade was in.

Speaker B: I tried so hard on my iPad to follow and I pretty much caught the scores every single time I had to guess which event she'd be in.

Speaker B: So I never got to see them live.

Speaker B: But the Beaver Gym Twitter account kept me posted on not just scores, but also some highlights and videos.

    Speaker B: Jade crushed it.

    Speaker B: She crushed it.

Speaker B: And really cool to see her out there and like, being beloved by her adopted team with Oklahoma gymnastics, kind of bringing her in to let her train and practice with them and use the facilities and everything else.

Speaker B: She's in there, like high fiving them after her events.

Speaker B: And they're not just like, hey, cool, good for you.

Speaker B: They were really into it, too.

    Speaker B: So shout them.

Speaker B: And also probably because she's a gold medalist Olympian, I would feel really excited to hang out with her as well.

Speaker B: Like, it makes sense.

Speaker A: And we're going to talk more about Jade's actual routines here.

Speaker A: But for the team portion of all of this, there was a team National Championship, and Oklahoma went on to win the National Championship.

Speaker A: And we cannot prove that it wasn't Jade's presence around their team, in their locker room, in their facilities, in their program, in their community, that that wasn't the difference.

Speaker A: The golden different that gave Oklahoma the edge they needed.

    Speaker A: You cannot.

Speaker A: Tell me it's not.

Speaker A: But we are not the University of Oregon.

Speaker A: We won't do the f****** Congrats National champion Dan Lennon in this horrible Photoshop.

Speaker A: Polo and national champion.

Speaker A: Let's hang a banner in Austin for this adjacent National Championship.

Speaker A: We're just happy for Jade and Boomer, Sooner.

    Speaker A: Good for you.

Speaker A: Oklahoma gymnastics, we're happy for you.

Speaker A: Thanks for treating Jade well for the week.

Speaker B: Jade to get back to her routine, she finished fourth in the all around second on bars.

Speaker B: Her bar routine was incredible.

    Speaker B: She had 99.9.

Speaker B: And honestly, that was not her strength.

Speaker A: It was nine nine five on even bars.

Speaker A: Right, sorry, 99 was the balance beam.

Speaker A: And also, like we said, there's a learning curve and we're amateurs here.

    Speaker A: Didn't see a f****** blemish.

Speaker A: So I'd like the National Championships.

Speaker A: Show me the blemish.

Speaker A: Find your show me the Blemish shirts on.

    Speaker A: Belligerentbeeves.com gymnastics, Beaverfam.

Speaker A: Yeah, she was so good.

Speaker A: Thank you, especially Warren and our other Beaver Gym followers, for sort of just igniting this passion, this fire, and helping highlight this interest in Beaver gymnastics over this whole season.

Speaker A: It's been so fun learning this new sport or new to us anyway, and covering it and getting excited about it.

Speaker A: We're going to make sure that when we come out for games now, basketball games in the winter that it overlaps with meets that we can go to.

Speaker B: Or maybe the other way we're going to pick a basketball game that overlaps with the gym meet.

Speaker B: I mean, the meats were incredible.

Speaker B: The meat was very incredible that we went to, like, in person.

Speaker B: Watching them on TV is also really awesome.

Speaker B: I was going to say the only thing about this thing about the ESPN plus was or ESPN Three, I guess was like they had every event I had its own stream, but you had no idea who was where.

Speaker B: It was very confusing, but I'm glad that Jade crushed it.

Speaker B: She ended up with three more All American honors after her performance in the competition.

Speaker B: That's eight All American honors this year.

    Speaker B: Eight.

    Speaker A: Yes.

Speaker A: And she combined that with having the best score and average all around score from the regular season and being undefeated and all around and really leveling up in areas and routines and events that weren't her strong suit in the Olympics.

    Speaker A: Getting less than.

Speaker A: 99 on vault was considered is still good.

Speaker A: That's like her worst event.

Speaker A: Hesitate to say the word worst.

Speaker A: But anyway, so very fun to watch her growth and evolution as an athlete and the whole team as well.

Speaker A: And so we're very excited about the future of this program.

Speaker A: It's always been, you know what, Tanya Chaplin at the home.

Speaker A: It's always going to be good.

Speaker A: I was happy to see that Coach Chaplin got her first Pack Twelve coach of the year award in a decade.

Speaker A: I know we talked about that last week a little bit with Chris Pendleton getting the coach of the year honors for wrestling as well.

Speaker A: But yeah, it's a program in good hands, and especially from a content standpoint, too, with our friend Amy.

Speaker A: Shout out to you, Amy, thank you for keeping us in the know all year.

    Speaker B: Thank you.

Speaker A: So, yeah, shout out to Jay.

    Speaker A: That's just f****** awesome.

Speaker A: And Congratulations again to Oklahoma.

Speaker A: I do think we've got a couple of diamond sports we should talk about.

    Speaker A: I'm feeling positive.

Speaker A: Can we do good news?

Speaker A: Good news first, good news.

    Speaker A: Okay, good news.

Speaker A: We talked about the importance or just sort of the intrigue in this sort of interesting series with the Long Beach State dirt bags coming to Gas Stadium for a non conference three game set Thursday through Saturday.

Speaker A: The benefit not having a Sunday game.

Speaker A: So the previous Sunday scaries couldn't affect Oregon State baseball.

Speaker A: And they did what you want, what you want good teams to do.

Speaker A: They swept the beach was a little bit closer, but then the offense exploded a little bit.

Speaker A: Got to see Jake Fenix back on the mound, and that's, I think, the biggest story.

Speaker A: He didn't pitch a ton, but he looked good in his limited run.

Speaker A: So we're winning games, stretch them out.

Speaker B: Now let's just get him in the rotation.

Speaker B: I mean, keep giving him the ball the second game, but we'll see him reach deeper into games as the weeks go by.

Speaker B: And as long as he's just ready for regionals.

Speaker A: That is the main thing.

Speaker A: That is being a good seat at that point.

Speaker A: But Cooper Jerky, still undefeated, can't lose.

Speaker A: He's like Friday Night Lights with clear eyes and full heart.

    Speaker A: He can't lose.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker B: He looks nothing to elaborate on that.

Speaker A: I thought you were going to go on doing Cooper Jerky.

Speaker B: I mean, what else can we say about him?

    Speaker B: He's been so g****** impressive.

Speaker B: Like, all season long, he's just been lights out.

    Speaker B: I don't know.

Speaker B: It just feels like one of those seasons and he feels like one of those players that when the Beavers are good, we have a guy like him where you're like, well, that's a W, right?

Speaker B: He's going to perform if he's in the game.

Speaker B: Not just a pitcher, but it can be.

Speaker B: Even as a batter.

Speaker B: If they're in the game, we'll be okay.

Speaker B: And I feel like you can lean on Derby that way this year.

Speaker B: He just has giving off that kind of confidence to the fan base, and his performances have backed it up thus far.

Speaker B: That when you're just like, all right.

Speaker B: As long as the rest of the team kind of does, almost all they should be asked to do will be in good hands.

Speaker B: And that stuff bodes well when you're playing these kind of round Robin, double elimination style tournament.

Speaker A: I have to give myself props here while we're congratulating the Oregon State baseball players, and they're a fantastic achievement so far.

Speaker A: I need to congratulate me.

Speaker A: I nerded out over a Gavin Logan bases loaded walk that he took in the USC series, and he did it again in this series.

Speaker A: I love the small ball.

Speaker A: This just reminds me of D*** Punto finding ways to get hit by pitch and punch singles with the bases loaded.

Speaker A: Gavin Logan drawing a bases loaded walk is a talent that I feel like should be celebrated as much as a home run.

Speaker A: It's just fantastic plate discipline.

Speaker A: She's got it in spades.

Speaker A: Justin Boyd and Wade Meckler were amazing in the series.

Speaker A: It was fun that I love it when series go like this.

Speaker A: Like, the first game was 31.

Speaker A: It's like, all right, yeah, we got the win, then the next dump it out 82, and you flex your muscles a little bit.

Speaker A: And then the exclamation point is the final game, 14 to three.

Speaker A: We're the better team.

Speaker A: And Jacob Comatz also got his 6th win.

Speaker A: He was a starter on Saturday, 14 three.

Speaker A: So he's still undefeated as well.

Speaker A: Duke are another great game, Forrester.

    Speaker A: Another great game.

Speaker A: It just seems like you keep going through this lineup and there's just zero weaknesses to find.

Speaker A: I didn't know about this until you dropped in the notes just right before the show, though.

Speaker A: Jacob Melton has mono.

    Speaker B: That's a rumor.

    Speaker B: It's a rumor.

Speaker B: So he's been out with an illness.

Speaker B: They're not specifying what kind of illness.

Speaker B: Mike Parker hasn't talked much about it other than being like a stomach bug or illness.

Speaker B: It would be bad if it was mono.

Speaker B: I've seen some chatter on both sides of this that it's not that if it was, it would be stated that it's coming from another player's family said that it is.

Speaker B: It could be a month or more if he has mono to recover it.

Speaker B: Even after that, it's a little bit of a climb to get back into shape.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

    Speaker B: So not great.

Speaker B: Luckily the offense hasn't missed a beat.

Speaker B: Luckily, the pitching has still held up in his absence and lack of run scoring possibilities that he provides.

Speaker B: The worst part is, to be honest, that you might win.

Speaker A: I never wanted to win.

    Speaker A: It wasn't even a bet.

Speaker A: I wanted him to be.

Speaker B: Jacob record watch is probably over.

    Speaker B: It's over.

Speaker A: Do you even know what the record, the home run record was?

Speaker A: Have you ever known or you just stated it one day and then we decided.

    Speaker B: It'S like 21 or 22?

    Speaker B: I don't know.

Speaker B: But he's still not going to get it.

Speaker B: He could have had it.

Speaker A: He could have until my actions that didn't believe in him.

Speaker B: You did something to make this happen.

    Speaker A: No, I didn't.

Speaker A: This was after four games.

Speaker A: There's been 27 games since then that he's played in.

Speaker A: He had hit two home runs at the time he had hit two home runs.

Speaker A: So shame on me for thanking someone who had just hit his first two home runs in the season wouldn't break his all time school record.

Speaker A: I'm sorry for injecting some realistic takes on this God Forsaken podcast.

Speaker B: He still sit at nine, right?

    Speaker B: He said nine.

Speaker B: And he's had a moment where he hit a couple of bombs and clusters, which like 20 games left in the season.

Speaker A: Let's say if we make it to Omaha, that's like another twelve games or something.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: So let's just say he still could do it.

Speaker B: He can still do it.

Speaker A: Look at me breathing life.

Speaker B: You're a dry blanket today, Terry.

Speaker A: I'm a warmed up weighted blanket.

Speaker A: It's all kinds of joyful, war and fuzzies.

Speaker A: Well, props in the Oregon State baseball team.

Speaker A: As mentioned, we got another intriguing nonconference match up with the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who we beat that a** early in the year, but they've been playing well and they're good.

Speaker A: So we'll be paying attention to those couple of games at Gospel this week.

Speaker A: Give me a second to look things up on the podcast again because I want to make sure everyone has the first pitch information.

Speaker A: Well, Tuesday is 535, so you have five more minutes.

Speaker B: How do they decide that?

Speaker A: I have no idea.

Speaker A: Got to be the first games on Pack Twelve Networks.

Speaker A: The second games on Pack Twelve Insider.

Speaker A: I blame Larry Scott, even though he's not at the conference conference anymore.

Speaker A: Monday and Tuesday set against Gonzaga, followed by a three game set against the Washington Huskies at home.

Speaker A: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, next five games, all at Gospel.

Speaker A: So get out there.

    Speaker A: Support your Beavers.

Speaker A: Protect our home field Beaver family.

Speaker A: You always do it better than anybody else.

Speaker A: Let's move on to softball who have hit a bit of a snag.

Speaker A: I'm going to keep being a nice warm, weighted blanket and continue to say I'm not worried about this at all.

Speaker A: We kind of got screwed in one of those games against Washington.

Speaker A: Yes, you lost all three games of this Washington series by one run, one measly run all three times.

Speaker A: We're on a four game losing streak, but a four game losing streak when you're f****** 31 and twelve.

Speaker A: I'm not batting that.

Speaker A: I'm not trying to act like it's nothing, but we really got screwed on that one plate.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: Played the plate yesterday was a bummer.

Speaker B: That was a clear out.

    Speaker B: It's bullshit.

Speaker B: Somebody trying to go home after going to extras.

    Speaker B: It's unacceptable.

Speaker B: It is an unacceptable way to end the series, and it's an unacceptable way to end the game.

Speaker B: So, like, the sweep at the hands of Utah sucks.

    Speaker B: It really sucks.

Speaker B: I mean, you're on the road, you're in Seattle.

Speaker B: The weather was probably s***, and it was a one run game all the way through.

Speaker B: And remember, UW ranked 11th right now.

Speaker B: It was a match of two top 20 teams that just went the way of the opponent three straight times, including with an assist from the Umpiring crew.

Speaker B: And the third and final game in extra innings is a play at the plate.

Speaker B: I don't take a lot away from this.

Speaker B: If they bounce back against UCLA at home again, wonderful.

Speaker B: Like, I wouldn't be surprised by any means.

Speaker B: It was a s***** contemplate that could and would demoralize a lot of teams who are flirting with the top 25 ranking throughout the season and are trying to redeem a series and they get screwed.

Speaker B: Like, where do you go from there?

Speaker B: And that's why I want to see what the response looks like against UCLA.

Speaker B: But you just don't make that call like that.

    Speaker B: You just don't.

    Speaker A: It's a s***** call.

    Speaker A: Anything.

Speaker A: Like, I'm taking some you want to see the team win these tough games.

Speaker A: If you're going to make a run to Oklahoma City, you're going to play teams like Washington.

Speaker A: You're going to play teams better than Washington if you want to get to where you want to go.

Speaker A: But this just kind of reiterates that our pitching and fielding holds up.

Speaker A: That was something I was worried about.

Speaker A: But, like, scoring runs with a problem, which is going to happen in games like this.

Speaker A: But our offense can get hot at the drop of a dime.

Speaker A: I could see that happening in a postseason run.

Speaker A: But to see that, like this pitching staff keep you dub this modest in three straight games in Seattle, that's impressive.

Speaker A: And I know, especially in our current f****** society, we just have to look at the win loss results and we can't think about development and take a breath.

Speaker A: But that's pretty impressive.

Speaker A: I'm looking at the schedule right now where it's 43213 two against one of the best teams in the conference, one of the best teams in the country, and you're in it.

Speaker A: So I think this Lore Berg is a good coach.

    Speaker A: Olympic pedigree coach.

Speaker A: We have three more series left.

Speaker B: I trust her to be not easy series, though.

    Speaker A: Not easy series.

    Speaker A: Not at all.

Speaker B: But to be like top five.

Speaker B: There are three right now to take the positives in this and to be like.

Speaker A: We'Ve got a lot of things right.

Speaker A: We've got a lot of things that are hard to get right.

    Speaker A: We got right.

    Speaker B: That's what I'm saying.

Speaker B: They can bounce back against you, which I don't think they cannot do.

Speaker B: Right to throw a double negative in your face.

    Speaker A: I don't think they cannot.

Speaker A: I think they can do that for a double positive.

    Speaker A: That's how positive I am.

Speaker A: See how the tables have turned on the podcast.

    Speaker B: Benny's missing.

    Speaker A: Benny's gone.

    Speaker A: Benny's gone.

Speaker A: I'm happy and fun.

    Speaker A: You're the f****** sour Puss.

Speaker A: Why do you hate Oregon State so much, JP?

Speaker B: I'm just thinking that's why the game mattered a lot.

Speaker B: That call mattered a lot.

Speaker B: Getting one would have been really helpful because now it would say a lot about where the mental state of the team is.

Speaker B: If they can bounce back and take the series from UCLA, they can't lose a series and win one game here.

Speaker B: They could have if they took that final game against UDB, right?

Speaker B: I think they could have survived and done okay losing two straight series against top 15 ranked teams if they at least took a game each time.

Speaker B: But then they also have to go up against Oregon and that's all in the road in Eugene and whatever.

Speaker B: I'm not going to give Oregon sports any credit, but they lost Arizona today, but they're 17th.

    Speaker B: They're also top 20.

Speaker B: The only saving Grace might be the season finale series against Utah, where there are 500 ball clubs.

Speaker B: So if that's three wins for us, great.

Speaker B: But at this point we need to win both series before sweeping Utah to really kind of stay in the conversation as like a top Pedigree team.

Speaker A: I think we should sweep Oregon in Eugene.

    Speaker B: I agree.

    Speaker B: For everything.

    Speaker A: I think that's a good strategy.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker A: I love how you say I'm not going to give Oregon sports any credit and then proceed to give them credit.

Speaker B: No, I didn't give it any credit.

Speaker B: I just told you the facts and they lost Arizona.

Speaker A: We report information on this podcast.

Speaker A: Real people put these notes together.

    Speaker A: B for FAM.

Speaker A: Real people with real facts.

    Speaker A: Exactly.

Speaker A: We'll will huge series against UCLA next weekend that starts Friday, April 22, 23rd and 24th at Kelly Field.

    Speaker A: First pitch, 07:00 P.m.

Speaker A: Pacific time on Friday, 03:00 P.m.

Speaker A: Pacific time on Saturday, 12:00 P.m.

Speaker A: Pacific time on Sunday.

Speaker A: Actually on the pack.

Speaker A: Twelve networks and Pac.

    Speaker A: Twelve Oregon.

Speaker A: So theoretically you can watch this on TV somewhere.

    Speaker A: Somewhere.

    Speaker A: I don't know.

Speaker A: I need to reactivate my Fubo.

Speaker A: I let it deactivate for a little bit, but it's expensive, dude.

    Speaker B: Fubo is Fubo.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker A: There's only so many week long free trials they can give a guy.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker B: And essentially this is communism.

Speaker B: You're paying for everyone else's free trials when you start to sign up for your subscription if it works.

Speaker A: That is exactly what communism is.

Speaker A: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've read about Fubo TV in the textbooks.

Speaker A: I've read about Stalin and subtitles.

Speaker A: Sorry, I'm going to restart that.

Speaker A: We're going to talk a little men's basketball here.

Speaker A: Positive guys in the fold.

Speaker A: Three guys, specifically Jaden Stevens, Jordan Pope and Nick Krasse.

Speaker A: Sorry, have joined the fray.

Speaker A: Jp, here's my main note.

Speaker A: You are a Golden State Warriors fan, correct?

    Speaker A: Yes.

Speaker A: In a word or two.

Speaker A: How enthusiastic are you about Jordan Pool?

    Speaker B: Immensely.

Speaker A: Okay, Jordan Pope is the new Oregon State basketball player from the Bay Area and his name is similar to Jordan Pool.

    Speaker B: I love it.

    Speaker A: It's a letter or two.

Speaker B: And also he has that kind of like Hooper name, right.

Speaker A: If you play Wordle, you know, a letter or two can be a real difference maker.

Speaker A: Yeah, in a big time winning streak.

Speaker A: So I'm excited about Jordan Pope.

Speaker A: Jaden Stevens Gonzaga Prep spoke in Washington Great Hoopstown underrated Hoopstown of Spokane has the same name as same first name as Jaden McDaniels.

Speaker A: Different spelling, but still who's also from Federal Way, Washington, Washington.

Speaker A: They generate their Hoopers and Jaden McDaniels has been incredible for the Timber Wolves so far.

Speaker A: This concludes my Beaver basketball analysis.

Speaker A: But no, these kids do have some jump, have a lot of pedigree, and God knows what our program is necessarily going to look like.

Speaker A: Per Dashl's Roundup on this latest announcement, we have eleven scholarship players currently on the team.

    Speaker A: Glenn Taylor Jr.

Speaker A: Is coming back, which we are very happy to see.

    Speaker A: I'm Dexter, a canoe guy.

Speaker A: Dexter is coming back.

Speaker A: Rand is coming back.

Speaker A: Rodriguez is going to be back.

    Speaker B: I like this.

Speaker A: Show will be back too.

    Speaker A: Hopefully healthy.

Speaker A: These kids got some talent.

Speaker A: Crass has played a ton of basketball for St.

Speaker A: Patrick's, which is a really good program in Mississippi.

Speaker B: Also to talk about Jordan Pope.

Speaker B: So that Prolific Prep.

Speaker B: They're like a feeder school for the MBA.

Speaker B: I mean, these guys, Jaylen Green went there.

Speaker B: This is like a program that finds talented dudes and gets them in the right opportunities.

Speaker B: And the fact that I'm sure what he saw in Oregon State was playing time from the get go.

Speaker A: I'm not mad at it.

Speaker A: If you all want to come here, h*** yeah.

    Speaker A: Look at this.

Speaker A: Like, okay, power five, three and 28.

Speaker A: So spots are opened up and I can go make a difference and I can hoop for 32 minutes a game and ball.

    Speaker A: That's what I want.

    Speaker B: That's what I want.

Speaker B: I also want to point out that I was in the Napa area.

Speaker B: I can't say anything because I'm signed on an NDA, but I was in the Napa area on the March 29 timeline.

Speaker B: The following day, Jordan Pope from Napa commits to Oregon State.

    Speaker B: You're welcome.

Speaker A: Bieber FAM, you were drinking wine in Napa and Jordan Pope from Napa commits to Oregon State concurrently.

Speaker A: To you drinking wine and Napa.

    Speaker B: No.

    Speaker B: Relatedly simultaneously.

    Speaker B: No.

Speaker B: These are related events.

Speaker A: That's what this means.

Speaker A: So when he announced it, you were there.

    Speaker B: Yes.

Speaker A: That is what I'm saying.

    Speaker B: Yes.

    Speaker A: Oh, man.

Speaker A: That segment would have taken 20 minutes if Ben was here.

Speaker A: Okay, so, yeah, you can't doubt the power of the Belligerent Beaves at this point.

Speaker B: He may or may not have an Nal deal.

    Speaker B: A wine deal.

Speaker B: An Nal wine deal.

Speaker A: That'd be so sweet.

Speaker A: That's in the works.

Speaker B: But you hit up E 40, get on his winery, and start dropping nil deals.

Speaker A: E 40 does have an Nil deal through Belligerent Beaves podcast, type in a Belligerent Beaver on your game Shark and you get to play with E 40 in this year's edition of NCAA Football by EA Sports.

Speaker A: Also, NBA ball running back.

Speaker A: He distracts the defense by just going OOH the whole time.

Speaker A: We haven't had a song yet this episode.

Speaker A: So, JP, please play 5 seconds of your favorite E 40 song.

    Speaker B: Thank you.

Speaker A: I know you hate it when I genuinely give you some creative license, but with E 40, I figured I got you.

Speaker A: I love E 40, but no one on the planet loves E 40 as much as you do.

    Speaker B: Dude.

Speaker B: I have a video of the mini baby Ed.

Speaker B: I was teaching him how to do the bird the dance.

Speaker A: Of course you were.

Speaker A: Of course he is.

Speaker B: Because he was starting to kind of do the little bounce when I had the Echo playing my favorites and what came on, none other than Nine or Gang, which we've played on here before.

Speaker B: And so I'm watching Ed do the bounce, and I'm like, hey, get your arms going like this.

Speaker B: And he starts doing it.

    Speaker A: Stop.

Speaker B: How do you get this on a video?

    Speaker A: I got a video.

Speaker B: I'll send it to you.

Speaker A: I think I heard this on my All Fantasy Everything podcast.

Speaker A: My favorite podcast Besides Belligerent Beats, someone had a story that E 40 writes his songs.

Speaker A: He writes his songs.

Speaker A: He lays on the floor, on his stomach with a notepad out in front of him and his legs kicked up, and he writes in a notebook like a little kid writing in their diary.

Speaker A: That's how he's just in his room, his incredibly amazing, lavish room, and he's just laying down, like, propped up on his elbows, jotting rhymes into this notepad.

Speaker A: And just the image of that, even if it's not true, let's just pretend it is.

Speaker A: Sorry if you're really particular about your creative process, E 40, but, man, just when I heard that imagery on the All Fantasy podcast, I was like that E 40 is my favorite rapper.

Speaker A: Now, just because of that, that's the most wholesome content ever.

    Speaker B: He's such a good dude.

Speaker B: Shout out to Earl.

Speaker B: Love you, our dude, Earl.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker A: We need to get out of here, but we've got to do a few more shout outs to more than just E 40 before we do that on the men's girlfriend.

Speaker A: Jackson Lake this past weekend finished under par in consecutive rounds for the second time, doing so this season.

Speaker A: He's having a good year for Oregon State golf.

Speaker A: Much better than either of us.

Speaker A: Look at Tristan Tree.

Speaker A: But Jackson JP and I are gearing up, hitting the range, hitting top golf.

Speaker A: We want to get in around at Tristan, so we're putting the work in sometime in the future, young man.

Speaker A: We won't be ready.

Speaker A: But Congrats on all your success this year continued legacy of great golfers at Oregon State.

Speaker A: Shouts to Jackson Lake women's golf is heading to the pack.

Speaker A: Twelve Championships this weekend.

    Speaker B: Oh, yeah.

Speaker A: Will be held at the Eugene Country Club you host.

Speaker B: Corvallis Country Club is probably a million times better.

    Speaker A: Probably.

Speaker A: I haven't been to Eugene Country Club.

Speaker A: The dance floor at the Corvallis Country Club.

Speaker B: I went to a wedding at the Corvallis Country Club.

Speaker B: And not a wedding.

Speaker B: I went to a work party.

Speaker B: Yeah, but I also hit a bucket of balls there with super secret producer Skinner.

Speaker B: His roommate at the time was like.

Speaker A: The chef that was just in College.

Speaker A: You guys just got to go to the range one day randomly.

    Speaker A: Yeah.

Speaker B: And we were like, totally under dressed, and everyone was looking at us like, what the h***?

Speaker A: What were you wearing?

    Speaker B: I don't know.

Speaker A: Are you wearing your Crab Tree Jersey and giant's hat?

    Speaker B: Probably flip flops.

    Speaker A: Super secret.

Speaker A: Skinner was probably dressed appropriately because he wore that green Polo every day.

Speaker B: I think he was wearing a collar shirt.

Speaker B: He was the only one in a collar shirt.

Speaker B: And I think he went, you probably should be still wearing a collared shirt, even at the driving range.

Speaker B: And we were like, well, can we get a beer?

Speaker A: Sorry, I don't have a card shirt, but I will have a beer.

Speaker A: Does not improve my status here, sir.

    Speaker A: Whatever.

Speaker A: If you're flexing at the Corvallis Country Club, come on.

Speaker B: It's still better than Eugene Country.

Speaker A: It's still better than Eugene Country Clubs.

Speaker A: Good luck to Alice Lama and the rest of the women's golf team.

Speaker A: Oregon State rowing is good.

    Speaker B: Yeah.

Speaker A: Shout out to our old friend Josh Jones, who was on the Oregon State rowing team.

Speaker B: They pride us on that mighty Willamette River, man.

    Speaker A: Mighty Willamette River.

Speaker A: I've only ever floated down that river, and not as fast as they do.

Speaker A: But, yeah, I'm going to be completely honest.

Speaker A: I read the report on OSU Beavers.com.

Speaker A: I am more confused about the way rowing is scored and ranked than we ever were about Jim, but we want to shed some light on this.

Speaker A: What I did get is Oregon State is ranked 18th in the country, which is good.

    Speaker B: That's great.

Speaker A: And I think there are generally more rowing teams than probably D one football team.

Speaker A: So 18th is probably pretty d*** good, all things considered.

Speaker A: And they had a loss to Stanford, who are in 10th.

    Speaker A: Stanford.

Speaker A: Just even thinking Stanford and rowing, you could tell.

    Speaker A: Whatever.

Speaker B: Where do they practice?

Speaker B: There's no Rivers in Palo Alto.

Speaker A: They probably have their own Silicon Valley generated river that they practice at.

Speaker A: I was trying to think of social network, but I guess that was at Harvard.

Speaker A: But then they went to Palo Alto.

Speaker A: But the crew guys, the Winklevoss twins, were rowing at Harvard.

Speaker A: So not a relevant cultural reference, Terry, but good try.

Speaker A: And women's track and field dominant at Lewis and Clark over the weekend, entered three events.

    Speaker A: Won all three.

    Speaker A: Good s***, ladies.

    Speaker A: Go Beaves.

Speaker A: Up next, the Oregon Relays at Haywardfield in Eugene.

Speaker A: Too much stuff is happening in Eugene.

Speaker A: We need to flip that.

Speaker A: But best of luck to all Oregon State athletics in competition this week and beyond.

Speaker A: And yeah, lots of exciting things happening.

Speaker A: So if you are in the area and you've got the means, get out to these events.

Speaker A: Do you have any plans on getting into an Oregon State sporting event soon, JP, or saving that money for Omaha Dog?

Speaker B: No, I think I'm going to try to get to the UCLA baseball series and see what's happening.

Speaker B: I might just do the day trip.

Speaker B: I'm not sure if I can make swing the weekend yet, but always catch that game, the Saturday game.

Speaker B: I think that's the tactical season finale.

    Speaker A: It is.

Speaker B: But yeah, I think that might be all in the cards for spring.

Speaker B: Until who knows what happens after all the conference play.

Speaker A: That was in the cards for me, too, until these Mexico tickets became a thing.

    Speaker A: So sorry.

Speaker A: I'm going to go be a thruffle with a mysterious couple in Cancun.

Speaker B: At least it's not me.

Speaker A: At least it's not you.

Speaker A: So you have invited me.

Speaker A: That's how this podcast started.

Speaker A: Listeners, don't let JP talk.

    Speaker A: I'm just kidding.

    Speaker A: We're close.

    Speaker A: We're not that g****** close.

Speaker A: Anyway, Benny, thanks for showing up.

Speaker A: Do you have anything to add?

    Speaker A: No.

Speaker B: You made edible earlier.

Speaker A: I had an edible in Mexico, and I've been listening to Tiesto, and my mom likes BlackButte Porter a lot.

Speaker A: Chop them, chop them.

Speaker B: The funny part is he won't even hear this because you know he doesn't listen.

Speaker A: Thanks for the Dynamite drop in, Benny.

Speaker A: That podcasting school is really paying off for all of us here at the Belligerent Peace Podcast.
